Honda City CNG and new Ritz petrol rolled out
A silent entry of two car models recently, one was the facelift variant of Maruti Ritz petrol and the other one was the CNG variant of Honda City. Both these car makers are known to launch their cars with great pomp and show, but this time around, all these commemorations were put to rest. We wonder why! Sometime back, Maruti Ritz facelift was rolled out in the diesel variant, therefore, it was quite obvious that Maruti Suzuki India gave a rest to all pomp and show. But Honda City CNG being launched in all hush-hush, seems to be bit shady, or shall we say going through the grief of low sales.

Both Honda City and Maruti Ritz were not in their best phases of late. The car sales were running low due to high competition in the market and their price tags, especially in case of Honda City sedan. The petrol model of Honda City was quite a big success, but recently, the sales had gone down majorly. So the tough competition in the market pushed the company to roll out the CNG variant that could fill the void of diesel engine in the Honda City range for the time being. The Honda City CNG has been priced around Rs. 9.50 lakh.

Coming to the facelift variant of Maruti Ritz, this one is the same as the recent 2012 Maruti Ritz Diesel models. The major reason behind the launch of 2012 Maruti Ritz Petrol might be to raise the sales, as even Ritz isn’t in the best period. The car has retained the same 1.2 litre of K-series petrol motor, which gives out 80BHP power and 112Nm torque. This model has been priced for Rs. 4.43lakh.
Let’s see, if by the addition of these models, the sales figures for the companies go up or not!
