Car Blog-Maruti Ertiga Launches At Rs 589 Lakh

Maruti Ertiga, the much talked about compact MUV of the Indian auto giant Maruti Suzuki, today launched in the Indian market in the price range of Rs 5.89 lakh to Rs 8.45 lakh.

The Ertiga is the first ever compact MUV of the Maruti Suzuki in the Indian market in company’s more than 2 and a half decade of operations. The launch of Ertiga is taking place at a time when the demand for compact utility vehicles in the passenger vehicle segment has been receiving high demand.

The Maruti Ertiga model is offered in both petrol and diesel versions in the country powered by a 1.4L K – Series engine and a Fiat sourced 1.3L Multijet engine. The petrol version of the car delivers a peak power of 95 PS in combination with a fuel economy of up to 16 km per liter. On the other hand, the diesel version is capable of generating a peak power of 90 PS with a considerably higher fuel economy of 20.77 km per liter. Both petrol and diesel variants of the Ertiga come incorporated with a five speed manual transmission gearbox.

The car seems somewhat similar to its hatchback siblings Ritz and Swift from the exterior. Inside, it carries a three row seating arrangement in combination with dual tone interior theme. The audio controls are mounted on the steering wheel of the car for enhanced convenience of the driver. There are AC vents available for all row passengers.

With compact dynamics and an India centric design, the Ertiga MUV is expected to give a tough fight to the likes of Toyota Innova, Mahindra Xylo, Tata Aria and upcoming Ford EcoSport. Besides India, the company will also be selling it in a few other markets like Indonesia and Thailand.
