Ford Classic sedan recalled
14 August, 2012: The recently re-named sedan ‘Ford Classic’ gets an embarrassing jolt of recall from Ford Motors in India. It is observed that there are some severe problems with Power steering hose (PAS) and Rear Twist Beam (RTB) and needs an urgent fix. As per the Ford engineers such a concern is only present in the sedans manufactured between September 2010 and February 2011. This hose and beam will be replaced in the problematic Classic sedans without any charge from the customers. On the preventative side, the company is also keeping a check on the Ford Classic produced in between the period January 2008 to December 2010, just to ensure everything is up to the mark.
New Ford Classic Titanium launched in India
16 July, 2012 : Ford has now plugged in the gap of ‘Titanium’ version in its Classic sedan lineup by introducing the same with some exhilarating features, which are rarely seen in rival sedans like Maruti Swift Dzire, Toyota Etios sedan and Mahindra Verito. The company has now dropped the top-end trim SXI to make way for Titanium in petrol and diesel department. There are 9 new features incorporated especially for Titanium trim comprising of body colored ORVMs, new alloys, new grille, speed sensing doors,volume control along with Bluetooth connectivity etc.
The Ford Fiesta Classic Titanium Petrol and Ford Fiesta Classic Titanium Diesel are tagged at INR 6.86 Lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) and INR 7.82 Lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The New sedan returns best in class mileage of 21.2 kmpl and 32.3 kmpl with petrol and diesel-run motors respectively.
