Jaguar XKR Special edition launched at Rs 1.27 Crore

01 August, 2012: Another exquisite and exclusive Jaguar XK is launched in the form of Special Edition ‘Jaguar XKR’ in the country with price tag reading a hefty INR 1.27 Crore (Mumbai pre-Octroi). Apart from the mechanical engineering perfection the special edition comes with hand-crafted 'Artisan' interiors. The compelling model is presented in coupe as well as convertible form. The Jaguar XKR has got extensive use of fine quality leather along with topnotch finish levels inside and 16-way adjustable heated driver’s seat.

There are two cliquey ‘Artisan interior’ colors that comprise of Navy with Jet headlining and Truffle with Canvas headlining. Moreover the exterior has got six vivacious shades that include Celestial Black, Crystal Blue, Lunar Grey, Rhodium Silver, Polaris White and Ultimate Black. Under the hood is the mechanical expertise of Jaguar with 5.0L Direct Injection V8 petrol motor outpouring a mammoth 510 PS of maximum power.

Around the globe, since 1996 the Jaguar XK is available in 2-door Coupe and Convertible style. In the year 2005, second generation Jaguar XK was unleashed to the world at Frankfurt Motor Show that gathered immense applause and praise by industry big shots for its incredible design engineering.

The New Jaguar XK design was a creative design effort by Britain-based prominent car designer Ian Callum, as per him the fantasizing curves of this latest Jaguar Sports Coupe were inspired by famous British actress Kate Winslet. Apart from Jaguar XK, the other grand tourer cars in the series are Jaguar XK8, Jaguar XKR and Jaguar XKR-S. To entice the high net worth Indian car buyers, recently a limited edition Jaguar XKR was launched by the company and the response was really appreciating.

The attention grabbing design of the Jaguar is such that it can’t resist your eyes, be it when motionless or on the go. This car is entirely focused on speed, performance and premium handling. The Jaguar XK makes itself stand in line with pride with likes of Aston Martin DB7 and Aston Martin Vanquish, though it is cheaper.

The street presence is so imposing that even a real beast could dare to confront the car. The oval-shaped amazing front grille is accompanied by mesmerizing headlamps that compliment the sleek cues at the bonnet line. The side profile has long wheel base and rear carries on the front delight very well. The interiors of the Jaguar XK are composed with luxurious atmosphere that suits perfect to an emperor. The beautifully crafted leather seats and interiors ooze out comfort by any means.

The premium material used inside is of breathtaking quality and is done with utmost level of design engineering. The safety features incorporated inside are worth mentioning here. Apart from basic aspects like front, side and curtain air bags, park assist camera and parking sensors the others include Jaguar Performance Braking System, Dynamic Stability Control and advanced traction control.

Packed with Jaguar’s 5.0L AJ-V8 GEN III powertrain it holds advanced fuel injection technology with twin independent variable cam timing that returns decent mileage with its lightweight construction. With this engine it catches the 0-100 kph mark in just 5.5 seconds.
