First of all to hit markets is Mahindra Korando, the Indian version of Korean Ssangyong Korando.  Mahindra has already conditioned the competition with the Rexton, and now this SUV already has gathered a lot of attention due to its class leading functionalities, looks, features and performance.

Mahindra Korando was unveiled at the New Delhi Auto Expo 2012 but Mahindra has decided to keep the price tag a secret. It is a good strategy to study market before launching a new model. This entry level SUV is expected to have a price range of Rs 14-16 lakh. The Ssangyong Korando is tweaked a bit to fit into the Indian base.  Ssangyong Mahindra Korando uses a 2.0L, e-XDi200 engine. This 1998 cc diesel engine produces a 175 S of maximum power at the rate of 4000 rpm and a maxed torque of 360 Nm at the rate of 2000-3000 rpm. CRDi system fuels the engine’s four cylinders.  Engine is mated with a six speed manual transmission. Mahindra Korando has an impressive top speed of 170 kmph. A 100 kmph is achieved in 9.9 seconds. The car has a city/highway mileage of around 13.2/19.5 kmpl.

The new Mahindra Korando is developed and designed by renowned styling and design manufacturer “Itladesin”.  The shape and design of this SUV is modern and stylish with rugged and tough appearance. This compact SUV Mahindra Korando is built on monocoque body structure, thus ensuring both sturdy and light weight body compared to its counterparts. The car looks extremely hefty and sporty with its muscular beautiful and flared wheel arches that are fitted with 17 inch alloy wheel tyres. Headlamps, high belt line, bulky bonnet and semi-circular grille with black mesh, all together merges well. The frond façade of Korando seem heavy, bulky and masculine.
