V2 being the diesel compatibility is highly economical. However, the Indica eV2 Xeta variant being a bit less economical with Petrol is capable of delivering a mileage of about 13.5 Kmpl within the city and around 18.4 Kmpl on the highways. On the other hand the Diesel variant in the eV2 variant is perhaps and by far the most economical ever with an excellent mileage performance of about 20 Kmpl in the city and tremendous 25 Kmpl on the highways. However the LPG variants of the car find interestingly somewhat low mileage efficiency of around 13.7 Kmpl in the city and 20.4 on the highways but even with a lesser bar, the car easily makes a cut over other cars like Maruti Swift. Tata Indica eV2/ V2 Engine, Power and Performance

The empowered and highly efficient Tata Indica comes with a choice of three Engines stated as following,
 

CR4 Diesel Engine

The all new CR4 Diesel Engine that forms the power house of Tata Indica is based on the well known Common Rail Diesel Engine technology and forms the center plot of the ‘efficiency story’. Well equipped with an engine displacement capacity of about 1396 cc, the mitochondria is loaded with massive power and offers premium mileage efficiency as well.

MPFI Petrol Engine

The Petrol Engine of the car is based on the usual Multi- point Fuel Injection System and technology that delivers optimum mileage and power. The Engine has a displacement capacity of 1193 cc that counts into the overall performance of the vehicle. The Engine is optimal when it comes to efficiency and easily outcasts other cars of the segment with great statistics.

Bifuel Engine

The Bifuel Engine is a mixed breed of MPFI and LPG system. The Engine uses multi- point fuel injection system but with the fuel compatibility of LPG. The Engine holds the same displacement capacity as the MPFI Petrol Engine i.e. 1193 cc and delivers somewhat less but fair mileage and power performance.

Tata Indica eV2/ V2 Pickup and Acceleration

The Powered eV2 CR4 Diesel Engine is well capable of churning out a tremendous power of about 70 ps at 4000 rpm and a significant torque of about 140 Nm at 3000 rpm with an ease that is quite appreciable. The Engine is capable of attaining a pickup from 0- 100 within 16.7 seconds and easily reaches a top speed of 152 Km/ h. On the other hand, the MPFI Petrol Engine possesses a maximum power of about 65.3 ps at 5000 rpm and a torque of about 99.8 Nm at 2700 rpm which can be counted as in good statistics. The Engine is well capable of covering 0- 100 within 15.8 seconds and attains a speed of 158 Km/ h with quite an ease. The Bifuel Engine with LPG compatibility has a power of about 53.5 ps at 5500 rpm and a torque of about 85 Nm at 2500 rpm. The engine attains a pickup from 0- 100 in around 17.2 seconds and a top speed of 142 Km/ h. All the engine variants come with a 5- speed manual transmission and offer an overall good performance.

Tata Indica eV2/ V2 Interiors and Features

The all new Tata Indica is refreshing from almost every corner from the inside. Surprising new features like the extraordinary shadow beige interiors are astonishing and it seems, Tata has made the eV2 with a complete new design in mind. The craftsmanship is better and many new features have been inculcated in the genome of the new Indica eV2 and V2. Just as before, the dashboard is huge and wide but now with whole new set of AC vents that are well placed than before. Also, the overall styling and design of the appearance of the dash has also been improved making the new Indica much more desirable than the one before. There is ample of space as can be expected from Tata, a company that is already known for making big wheelers. Being a five seater, the car does true justice to the headroom and legroom both in the front and rear compartments of the cabin.

Towards the centre of the dash, lies the Single DIN audio/ CD/ Mp3/ FM player that looks magnificent with the wooden finish and outlines the middle with style. The Music system is well compatible with USB and AUX support that further refines the pleasure of carrying your favorite artists with you on long journeys.  The centre console too has an excellent wooden finish providing an elegance of its own. The Instrument console with the tachometer looks fabulous and well illuminated. The Digital clock just above the dashboard looks great in style and the parcel tray is again something you might just look forward to. Adjustable head rests are very comfortable and there is no doubt that the seats are comfy too. The graphical fabric trims at the doors again add to the beauty of the interiors. Everything essential right from the arm rests to the leather wrapped gear knob looks good and full of utility.
The Steering and other driver controls are well placed and positioned to provide utmost comfort without fatigue even at longer hauls. The Inside Rear view mirror provides good visibility and comes handy all the time.

Tata Indica eV2/ V2 Exteriors and Features

Although the car has gone through a lot of transformation from inside but only a little looks different from the outer sights. The Exteriors of the car have a lot more similarity with the previous versions of the car but yes, a few very stylish details have been added to the looks in order to make it more attractive. The new features include a rear bumper and uniquely designed tail lamp cluster that gives a sporty and trendy appearance to the car. Although the front head lamps remain untouched, a chrome strip on the front grille with the Tata emblem at the centre somewhat makes the fascia look different and distinct. The aerodynamics of the car has been improved and as mentioned earlier, the sculpture of the car has been redefined with new side windings molded into the metal itself. The alloy wheels are broad and look very sporty. The overall finishing of the exteriors is good and looks neat and clean from all angles. Also stylish decals have been added to its sides near the front doors in order to give graphical design.  Overall the car looks bold and a not too different from the previous version yet with a style that grabs attention.

Safety Features in Tata Indica eV2/ V2

Tata has made sure that the new Indica comes well packed and loaded with advanced safety features like ABS, child locks at rear doors and a collapsible steering column. Another important aspect here is the unique anti- submarine seats that promise optimum safety. Other features include headlamp leveling device, rear fog lamps, clutch to start mechanism and side intrusion beams on all four sides of the vehicle.  

Tata Indica eV2/ V2 Driving and Handling

The all new Indica is easy and effortless in driving. The powerful engine gives a super boost of pickup and acceleration is smooth. The gear shift needs a bit of an effort but ultimately leads to satisfaction when you cross the 100 mark on the speedometer. The new Drive assist feature further improves the quality of drive. The clutch to start feature is excellent and is an innovative feature of the car. The front is well equipped with independent wishbone with McPherson strut type suspension with antiroll bar.
