2013 Mitsubishi Outlander could soon see the sunlight in India, more SUVs may join
Mitsubishi cars in India are sold in collaboration with Hindustan Motors in India. Of late, the company made an official announcement that it will bring in some exclusive Mitsubishi SUVs to the Indian car bazaar in next financial year. With this news, it has given a little thumbs up to the buzz that 2013 Mitsubishi Outlander might also make it to India this year. Conversely, when enquired about the same from the firm, HM-Mitsubishi decided to be mum on the topic. If we see the track record of Mitsubishi SUVs, Mitsubishi Pajero Sport is doing a great business in the country. But the outgoing model of Outlander hasn’t been performing well and the reason behind is that it is available only in petrol engine option.
However, 2013 Mitsubishi Outlander if launched in India, it shall be made available turbo diesel option. And it is quite obvious, as the company could see rising demand of diesel cars in the country. Hence, if Mitsubishi launched 2013 Outlander in India with diesel option, it will surely help the sales to shoot up the graph in no time.
Looking at the overall track record of Mitsubishi in India, the car maker didn’t have great luck in sedans. Recently, Lancer and Cedia cars by Mitsubishi were discontinued. Therefore, it is best for the company to focus on SUVs and bring in the best possible options to the country. Another reason why 2013 Mitsubishi Outlander could be launched in India is that it has been quite a while now that the firm has launched any strong SUV in India. Last one launched by it was Pajero Sport, which showcased great sales figures for the firm. The ‘off-roader of the year’ award presented by BBC Top Gear Magazine last proved the worth of the car even more.
