2013 Skoda Rapid Diesel rolled out in Nepal
The India-Spec 2013 Skoda Rapid Diesel has been rolled out in Nepal recently. The car has been rolled out three variants, similar to what is available in India, Active Plus, Ambition Plus and Elegance Plus. The car is launched within the price range of Rs. 21.84 lakh to Rs. 25.59 lakh. This might seems a bit costly, but who said luxury comes free of cost! The car is pitted against sedans like Hyundai Verna, Ford Fiesta and Fiat Linea. Rapid Diesel is being sent to Nepal from India via CBU route. This explains why the price tag has risen and this sedan turned out to be a bit expensive for Nepal consumers.
Talking about the specifications, the 2013 Skoda Rapid Diesel features 1.6-Litre TDI turbo diesel engine, which is powerful enough to churn out maximum power output of 105BHP along with maximum torque of 250NM. The five-speed manual transmission coupled with the engine makes Skoda Rapid Diesel sedan an exciting drive. Being powered by diesel engine, the fuel economy figures are top class as well. The petrol variant of this sedan is already available in Nepal car market and has been showing great potential in terms of revenue for the firm.
As for Skoda’s plan for India, the car maker is ready to bring in the new Skoda Octavia/Laura to the Indian car market this year. The new Skoda Octavia will be based on Volkswagen’s MQB platform that would make this sedan a bit better in terms of proportions. Apart from this, the exteriors and interiors of the car will be refurbished in an innovative way thereby making new Octavia alluring and attractive even more than before. The pricing details for the same have been kept under the hood and total secrecy.
