Hindustan Motors, the manufacture of the iconic Ambassador sedan and light commercial Winner, based in Kolkata, West Bengal, India is going to launch a BS-4 complaint diesel engine version of the Ambassador by near future. At present the company is selling BS-III complaint diesel model of the flagship sedan across the country. According to the written reply by Praful Patel, Minister of Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises, The Indian Automobile Industry is likely to produce turnover of about Rs. 2,10,000 crores.
