Aston Martin Vanquish introduced at price tag of Rs. 3.85 crores

Aston Martin Vanquish introduced at price tag of Rs. 3.85 crores By Ramendra Singh Wednesday, August 01, 2012 2:28 PM

Inspired from the overwhelming response from the sports cars enthusiasts in India, the British sports car manufacturer, Aston Martin has launched its ‘Vanquish’ sports car, thereby expanding its portfolio. Launched at the price tag of Rs. 3.85 crores (Ex-showroom Mumbai), the Vanquish is now the most expensive in India from the Aston Martin fleet.

Aston Martin Vanquish is the fifth introduced car by the car maker after the Vantage, the Rapide, the DB9 and the DBS. The reason why the company has introduced the Vanquish in the Indian market is simply its three-fourth volume of Indian sales coming from its high priced models.

Lalit Choudhary, the Director of Performance Cars, the official importer of Aston Martin cars stated that earlier it was expected that Aston Martin would sell more from the entry level cars like the Vantage and the volume of top end cars would be comparatively less, however, things have resulted just opposite to the expectation. He added that the cars in the range of Rs. 2.5 – 3.0 crores have accounted for 80 percent of sales out of the total sold 40 cars.

Although, the super grand tourer, the Vanquish has no other rival but in terms of price, it might snatch the sales of other sports cars like Lamborghini Aventador, Ferrari 458 and Ferrari F-12.

To cater the automobile needs of Indian rich class there is a battle amongst prominent auto-units like Lamborghini, Ferrari, Porsche, Rolls-Royce, Aston Martin and Bentley. After the arrival of brands like Aston Martin, Ferrari and Maserati, there have been a boom in the segment in last 18 months and around 200 units per annum have been sold. However, in 2013 – 13, the sales are expected to remain constant.
