Audi A3 hatchback spotted testing in Argentina, sedan version to come India by 2013
The luxury car maker Audi seems to have decide to not to leave any stone unturned in making sure a rapid expansion of its portfolio in the Indian auto market. After launching a series of new cars models in the Indian auto market in past few months, the company is looking forward to add some more car models in its India portfolio.
Recently, the hatchback version of Audi A3 sedan was caught testing by a leading car blog in Argentina. The Spy photographer caught the Audi A3 hatchback testing between San Rafael and El Sosneado in Argentina, covered with heavy camouflaging. The styling and designing cues have been borrowed from the A6 sedan.
The car will be launched in a sedan version by 2013. In a bid to keep the price of the upcoming A3 sedan competitively low (about Rs 20 lakh), the company may decide to power the car with 2.0L TDI unit, which currently powers the Volkswagen Passat sedan, joined with seven-speed DSG transmission.
The most awaited among upcoming car models of German auto giant is Audi Q3, which is expected to be launched in the country next year. The Q3 model will be rivaling with the likes of BMW X1 in the price segment of sub Rs 20 lakh.
