Audi bullish on India, to launch five new cars this year, Q3 assembly in India soon
Last year was not less than a catastrophe for a lot of car makers in India but it certainly was not so for Audi. Bullish on India and highly elated with 9003 units sales last year, the German car maker hopes to include India in the top ten global markets in the next three years volume wise. And why not when Audi A4, Audi Q3 and Audi A6 are doing wonders in the country in the luxury car segment. Following the unprecedented success of Audi cars in India, the car maker is able to sell over 9003 units in 2012 which is over 20 percent more than what it sold in 2011.

Enthused by the success of its cars in India, the car maker expects to sell over 20 percent more cars to the tune of over 10,800 units this year. It is believed that this year will be tough as far as the luxury car segment is concerned as other car makers such as BMW, Volvo and Mercedes Benz have also slated a decent line up of cars. In addition to the over Rs 25 lakh price band, some car makers have decided to target under Rs 25 lakh car segment as well to get instant response and some extremely good numbers. BMW and Mercedes Benz are two of these and experts believe that this year there will be a lot of cars that will be launching in the luxury car segment.
With the new Audi Q5 already in, the company plans to launch as many as five new cars this year. These will include the most anticipated Audi R8 and Audi S6 cars as well. In addition to this after the expansion of the assembly line, more cars other than A4, A6, Q5 and Q7 will be assembled in India. Audi hopes to assemble Q3 SUV this year at its Aurangabad plant.
