Audi launches India bound Audi A3 in South African car market
Where at one side Indian buyers are keenly waiting for Audi A3, the next initiative from luxurious German car maker Audi, company has unveiled the sedan in car market of South African continent and it is reported that it will start its delivery sometimes during the month of January next year. Audi has introduced Audi A3 in both petrol and diesel variants. The petrol variant has been offered in two versions one is equipped with 1.4 litre TFSI engine developing the power of 123 bhp (MT) and 120 bhp (AT) whereas the other model is equipped with 1.8 litre engie churning the power of 177bhhp and torque of 250 NM.
The diesel variant is energized with 2.0 litre turbo diesel engine developing the power of 148 bhp and torque of 350 Nm. As far as version of Audi A3 in Indian car market is concerned it is expected that its petrol variant will be equipped with 1.8 litre TFSI petrol engine whereas diesel variant will be equipped with either 1.8 litre or 2.0 litre TDI diesel engines.
In South African car market Audi A3 has been launched with price tag of R323,500 (INR about Rs. 19 lakh). It is reported that Audi A3 will be one of the cheapest cars from Audi, expecting to strengthen its roots in Indian car market. It is speculated that company may showcase Audi A3 during upcoming Indian Auto Expo 2014. However in India it is expected to be offered with price tag falling between Rs. 22 lakh and Rs. 25 lakh. It will be adorned with various remarkable features including two zone climate control, MMI, a multi-functional steering and of-course Audi’s drive select system.
