It is within some days after the Bollywood diva Katrina Kaif unveiled the heartthrob Audi Q3 concept at the Delhi Auto Expo 2012, it is now confirmed that the small SUV will also be launched in US. An Audi’s addition to the Q Series SUVs, Audi Q3 is scheduled to launch in India as well. Prior to the launch, Audi Q3 Vail Concept was unveiled at the Detroit Auto Show.

Audi Q3 is basically the toned down version of the Audi Q5 senior which itself is the small version of the SUV biggie Audi Q7. With the launch of Audi Q3 crossover, Audi will be targeting the mass segment SUV buyer and in India the Audi Q3 price is expected to remain at between Rs 28 lakh to Rs 30 lakh. There will be two models that will be launched in India viz. Audi Q3 petrol and Audi Q3 diesel. Where the Audi Q series resemblance will quite apparent in the Q3, it has exceptional power and space inside as well. Studded with ultimate off roading capabilities, the Audi Q3 petrol is expected to be powered by a 2L TFSi engine outputting a mammoth 170 bhp while the diesel model will be powered by a 2L Tdi engine that will produce 177 bhp.

The Indian version of the Audi SUV is expected to have six speed transmission. Besides, the Audi Q3 will have four airbags as standard and will also be equipped with Anti-lock Braking System apart from Electronic Brake distribution and traction control. There will also be dual air conditioning with climate control and a lot of safety and other features to make this SUV a great success. In India among the Audi SUV offerings there is Audi Q5 starting at Rs 40 lakh and Audi Q7 starting at Rs 52 lakh. The Audi Q3 vail Concept launched at the Dteroit show is powered by a 2.5-liter TFSI engine that outputs 314 hp and is among the highly powered engine in this category.
