Bentley to display two new Continental V8 variants at Detroit Auto Show
The yearly auto show held in Detroit, named the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) will witness the uncovering of two new Bentley Continental V8 versions in the form of Bentley Continental V8 GT Coupe and Bentley Continental V8 GTC Convertible.
These new automobiles will be packed with a 4.0L twin-turbocharged V8 power-train, which is lower as compared to the earlier mammoth 6.0L W12 engine that served the ultra-luxurious cars. The new V8 power-train of Bentley is capable enough to churn out a supreme power of 500 bhp at 6000 rpm together with utmost torque of 660 Nm.
The massive engine is mated to an eight speed automatic transmission that assists the vehicle to accelerate from 0-100 km per hour in around 3 to 5 seconds. Both these vehicles clock the top speed of 290 km per hour.
The Bentley Continental V8 has a changeable displacement feature that can be switched from V8 mode to V4 form. Apart from this some more modern features that Bentley holds are the high pressure direct injection, low friction bearings, thermal management and for decent fuel economy a resourceful turbo charger is bundled.
Bentley Continental V8 GT Coupe and GTC Convertible will sport a standard 20 inch alloy wheels also as an option a 21 inch 6-spoke wheels are also made available on demand.
Britain based Bentley Motors; the company that was established in 1919 and was sold to Rolls Royce in 1931. Germany’s prominent auto major Volkswagen Group; which owns renowned brands like Audi, SEAT, Bugatti, Lamborghini and Skoda, acquired the UK based firm in 1998.
