The much awaited, much anticipated launch in the Auto Expo 2012 has finally happened with BMW M5 launch. The BMW pavilion was none less than a congregation of auto lovers who all had the first glimpse of the jaw dropping sedan BMW M5. In this sports sedan, the BMW Vision ConectedDrive concept speaks for itself and the sports car lovers will be its takers. The car is priced at Rs 95.9 lakh (ex-showroom).

The 4.4L V8 engine powered car’s launch was all happening akin to the cars power. With 560 bhp under the hood the BMW M5 takes to 100 kmph in just 4.4 seconds. Even more with seven speed automatic gears, you will never know when it has reached the 100 kmph mark. However, the top speed has been limited to 250 kmph.  Besides, front ventilated and rear disk brakes ensure that the car brakes at the right moment and at the right distance.

The 2012 BMW M5 which is built on F10 platform is in its fifth generation and was first launched in 1985 when it had a 282hp engine. In the new 2012 BMW M5, you say a feature and it is there in the 1945 kg BMW M5. Airbags, parking sensors, fog lamps, traction control, ABS, EBD bla bla bla making the speed machine a truly made for speed one.  

It was no less than a crowd struggling to have a glimpse of the speed monger machine at the hall no 9 of the Pragati Maidan where the new as well existing BMW cars have been showcased. However, the anticipation and craze that was there for BMW Mini Cooper series cars was quite absent during the launch of BMW M5. It could be the BMW M5 price or that India may not have proper roads for a sports car like this. Early BMW M5 reviews have been very promising and the car has been graded to be best in fuel economy and day to day driving and overall a great saloon on the market.
