The American car maker – General Motors in the India auto industry seem to be doing some extra time to get a line up prepared for the second half of this year; the time that is heavenly period for the industry with most of the car buying during Diwali. As per reports, GM India is expected to launch the new Chevrolet Cruze soon. Besides, the new Chevrolet Enjoy MPV, the Chevrolet Sail sisters – Sail hatchback and Sail sedan along with the facelift of Chevrolet Captiva SUV are all in the making. The Chevrolet Tavera Neo 3 BSIV is already in.

It seems that GM will be starting the launch spree in India with the new Chevrolet Cruze that is expected to have Z Series 1998 cc (2 litre) diesel engine that has an increased power output of 161 bhp which is 13 bhp more than what the current 1991 cc engine outputs. In addition to this, the Cruze will have lots and lots of feature changes both on the outside and inside. The design changes on the outside will be explicitly visible at the front and the rear. The new Cruze front is expected to have new headlamps, new grille and a matching design bumper. The rear is expected to have improved tail lights and a new bumper that fits with the design changes.

Media reports and information from sources suggest that the new Cruze will be more fuel efficient and will have a slight increase in its price commensurate with the higher input costs and the addition of features. Currently at Rs 13.15 lakh, the new Cruze could be dearer by around Rs 35,000 but it will be worth it as GM is said to be in a mood to give the Cruze a serious facelift with lots of design and other changes. This will not only strengthen its hold over market, it will help the Cruze compete with Toyota Corolla Altis and Honda Civic besides other cars.
