Chevrolet Enjoy MPV to make this Diwali even more glittering
Indian families will have every reason to enjoy soon as Chevrolet will be launching its MPV Enjoy this Diwali. Before that there will be more offerings from the American car maker such as the new Chevrolet Captiva SUV this April followed by Sail hatchback which is scheduled for a June launch. Next to come will be the Sail sedan in October-November this year. The Sail cars were spotted recently and now the Chevrolet Enjoy MPV was caught testing in Cochin. The Enjoy price is expected to remain around Rs 7 lakh to Rs 8 lakh and it will be the closest rival to Maruti Ertiga that is launching on April 11.
The two Sail cars will be launched in India as part of the American-Chinese collaboration between GM India and Chinese car maker SAIC. With the Sail hatchback, Chevrolet will be able to cater to the small car segment quite well and it is believed that since it will be placed separately it will not eat Chevrolet Beat’s market. Notably, Chevrolet Beat and Beat Diesel have witnessed quite exceptional sales recently and this could be the fact that Chevy is bringing in a new hatchback in India.
The Chevy MPV Enjoy is the car based on Wulling CN 100. It will be available in both petrol and diesel options. There will be a 1.4 L 95 bhp petrol engine and 1.3 L Fiat Multijet 89 bhp engine options available on Enjoy. Both the diesel and petrol will be available in five speed manual transmission option only.
As per sources Chevrolet Enjoy price could be decided on the basis of the Maruti Ertiga price at the time of launch. Besides by launching the Enjoy in October this year, Chevrolet will get some time to assess the shortcomings as well response to Ertiga and based on it, it can think of some improvements in the Enjoy. Since Enjoy will be placed below Chevrolet Tavera, it will in any case not eat its market share. However, with an entry level option available there will be some effect on high priced MPVs such as Toyota Innova, Mahindra Xylo and others.
