Chevrolet Sail bookings cross 7k mark
GM India is riding high after witnessing an overwhelming response on the bookings of the Chevrolet Sail sedan. According to the latest reports, Chevrolet Sail has managed to cross over 7,000 bookings in India. There are many reasons that have lured the Indian car buyers. Those reasons include an attractive free maintenance plan, quite spacious interior, elegant design, Fiat’s 75 bhp 1.3 litre MultiJet diesel engine, etc. Crossing a figure of 7,000 bookings is certainly a commendable one that too barely within few months after its launch. It is apparent that company was quite skeptical about the success of Chevrolet Sail after experiencing a not so inspiring sales performance of Sail U-VA.
Nevertheless, despite of achieving a success, company should not slip into a comfort zone because there is soon come up a strong rival called Honda Amaze that may have some negative impact on the sales of Chevrolet Sail. Honda Amaze will be equipped with a 1.5 litre diesel engine and it is capable of offering a mileage of 25.8 kmpl that is, so far highest in the country in the segment. Honda Amaze is featuring outstanding specifications and brilliant interior. Whether, it will be Chevrolet Sail that will outshine Honda Amaze or vice-versa, will be revealed in due course of time.
Amidst rising sales of Sail sedan, the Maruti Swift Dzire sales are unaffected and it still is the highest selling car in the segment and also one of the best selling Maruti cars in India. Meanwhile, other cars such as the Tata Indigo eCS, Skoda Rapid, Toyota Etios sedan and others are maintaining their pace with some dent in sales due to the ongoing slowdown in the market. But more than 7k bookings for Sail sedan is a sure sign of success of the car in the segment and it seems that this car will prove to be the top rival of Swift Dzire in the segment.
