Chevrolet Sail bookings: diesel trim gets overwhelming response
It has been a full week that General Motors India has rolled out Chevrolet Sail sedan into the Indian car market. And if we look at the booking figures, the car surely came out with flying colors. The sedan has managed to fetch about 1000 bookings since the time it has been launched here. According to the sales reports, the company has clocked about 836 booking way before the official launch happened in India. And bifurcating the figures here, we hear that 638 units belonged to the diesel Sail sedan, while 198 petrol Sail sedan were booked. There are various reasons why Sail Sedan is being loved by the consumers. The first one is the price tag attached to it. You can take home your Chevrolet Sail Petrol for Rs. 4.99 lakh, while diesel one start from Rs. 6.29 lakh.
The next thing that is attracting an aspiring car consumer towards Sail Sedan is the chic and very stylish appearance coupled with very subtle and sophisticated interiors. The stylish curves with smooth nose complimented by trendy headlamp cluster and well-done tail lights are the highlights on the outside. On the inside, features like proficient AC with heater, Power windows, power steering wheel, CD/MP3 player make the interiors comfy and delightful. The ample of legroom and headroom for all occupants acts as icing on the cake.
Furthermore, the engine options make the choice easier for a buyer. The petrol variant comes with 1.2-Litre SMARTECH engine, which promises a 18.3 kmpl of mileage, while the diesel variant has 1.3-Litre mill that delivers 22.1 kmpl of fuel economy.With these features, clocking a 1000 booking figure in just a week is not bad at all. To make it more viable in India, Sail has been localized to a great extent.
