Fiat to set itself apart fully from Tata, to open 80 dealerships till March
Fiat India is on a solo journey now after breaking ties with the Indian car maker Tata. As per the latest reports, the Italian car maker will be parting itself fully next year and by that time the brand wants to establish itself firmly in the Indian car industry. But experts believe that the presence of only two cars Fiat Linea sedan and Fiat Punto hatchback will not do any good to the car maker and in order establish its own identity, the Italian car maker must come up with some highly affordable and highly lucrative offering. Getting ahead with only Punto or the most powerful hatchback Fiat Punto Sport will not do any good to the car maker and it is in dire need of highly attractive offerings.

The car giant had enjoyed bloom with Premier Auto when it had sold the Fiat Premier Padmini car in India and at that time there was only one other car Hindustan Ambassador that was its rival. However, as soon as the Maruti 800 came, the craze for Premier car came to a halt. Still, in some areas specially the Mumbai taxi industry has a majority of Fiat cars. As per the expansion plans now, the car maker will be having 80 dealerships across Indian including the metros and the major cities of the country and it will also be on manhunt soon to hire people to the profile of customer relationships managers.

Fiat cars have not performed well under Tata’s guardianship and now the car maker wishes to see if it can do it on its own. However with two offerings it seems quite impossible when it has to compete with the bulls in the segment. The Punto has the Maruti Swift as its rival the Fiat Linea sedan has Honda City, Maruti Swift Dzire and new Mahindra Verito as its prime rivals.
