Force Motors seems to have realized the big scope in off roading. Tasting success in India with the Force Motors Force One SUV, the India bound SUV maker plans to revive the Force Motors Gurkha soon. The Gurkha, a sturdy off roader was built on special order and was mostly supplied to the defense forces but was unexpectedly pulled off the market in 2011. Recently, there is a buzz that the Indian SUV maker is expected to revive project Gurkha and supply the macho SUV to the general public soon.

Based on the Mercedes Benz Gelande Wagen, Gurkha is a true SUV in every inch of it. A turbo diesel engine derived from Daimler will be under the hood of the upcoming SUV and it is also expected to have a CRDi engine option as well. So far, there is no information as to the expected date of Gurkha launch in India but Force Motors is believed to hurry up things as it will be just as matter of reviving the SUV and putting it again to production only. Force Gurkha 4X4 SUV is expected to get a facelift before it is launched in India. The Gurkha will be using the CRDi engine that is in duty under the hood of the Force One SUV.

This CRDi engine will be making this SUV most attractive as it will not only give 140 bhp to it but will also be giving decent mileage as well. However, expecting 25 kmpl from the 2.2 L powered Gurkha will be unjust as it will be 4X4 car. Car industry experts believe that the SUV will have a major publicity budget this time and Force Motors will be doing everything to promote the sales of this SUV in India. Besides, the popularity and trust that the Force One SUV has built up will help establish the Gurkha as well.

Another SUV that is all set to enter the Indian car market is the Renault Duster SUV. The SUV will be launched in India on July 4th, 2012, however most of the details about the SUV have been unveiled, but pricing and other variants’ details will be revealed on the day of launch.
