Ford B Max small car unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show, launch in India confirmed
The Geneva Motor Show has witnessed the Ford B Max small car unveil today. A successive launch in other countries including India is possible. Ford seems to be as active across the world as it is in India. The B Max small car will be entering the production phase late this year and being a small car it has the characteristics of setting in any car market. India, indeed is one of the lucrative market for small cars and more and more companies have already pitched in their small cars and more such as Ford and Mercedes are in the process of launching compact cars in the country.
The B Max uses Ford global B-car platform on which Ford Fiesta is also based. The MPV character like hatchback has been in much abuzz since it is a small car and secondly because India is need of a viable entry level MPV. However, Maruti is also planning to launch Maruti Ertiga in March this year and it will be giving a tough time to Toyota Innova, Chevrolet Tavero Neo3 and newly launched Mahindra Xylo besides others. As per sources, since the B Max is developed on B platform, it will be bigger than a hatchback and will have multi utility vehicle features.
The Ford B-Max will have sliding doors in addition to lots of exciting features that will make the new Ford car truly successful in India. The B Max that is unveiled at Geneva Motor Show is longer than the Fiesta sedan by 110 mm however it is still smaller than any of the C-segment hatch. The Ford 1L EcoBoost certainly has made appearance under the hood of this car and it will be giving 100PS power to the B Max. A 90 Ps Duratorq or 105 PS Duratorq engine could also make its way to power the new Ford car. There could be two diesel engine options available for B Max. a 95 PS TDCi engine and a 1.5L 75 PS engine.
