Ford Ecosport launch sooner than expected
It is now five months that the Ford Ecosport SUV has been the newsmaker every week for some or the other reason. Now, as per the latest buzz, the Brazilian SUV is all set to be launched in India this Diwali or even before it. Earlier the Rs 8.5 lakh SUV (expected price) was scheduled to be launched early next year. Meanwhile, there have been various sessions of spying and cat and mice game with the camera in various regions recently. On some occasions the Ecosport was spotted in a camouflage free state that has all the more increased the anticipation for this Ford SUV. Meanwhile, the reports that Ecosport is coming this Diwali have also triggered much enthusiasm among SUV buyers and some have postponed their purchase to the festive season.
So what is that really will be attracting the Indian SUV buyer to buy Ecosport? The looks certainly will, the engine and mileage will certainly do, the comfort and upright stance of the SUV will also do. But, does size matter in India? Yes it does. As per auto industry sources, the Ecosport size could force some car buyers to step back as it is a compact SUV and India is accustomed to big SUVs such as Tata Safari
, Mahindra Scorpio and others that have recently come over including Mahindra XUV 500
and Force One SUV. But it is sure that Ecosport will be a hit if Ford is able to price it well in India.
Meanwhile, by the time Ford Ecosport will be launched in India, the upcoming Renault Duster
SUV will in all probability comfortably settle in India. Coming on July 4, the Renault SUV will be highly affordable and is expected to be offered in petrol and diesel models with exceptional mileage of over 20 kmpl in diesel. However, both the Ecosport and the Duster will have to closely fight with Maruti XA Alpha
that will be launched early next year.
