The big Ford SUV Endeavour has moved a few paces away from its new avatar launch in India. The new Ford Endeavour was expected to be launched sometime now but as per news sources, the facelifted SUV will be launched later as there is shortage of parts in assembling it. News reports suggest that the shortage of supply of parts from Thailand is the cause of delay. Meanwhile, the Toyota Fortuner rival SUV that starts at Rs 17.84 lakh is doing well and maintaining its sales. A near Diwali launch is what experts predict as the new date for Endeavour launch.

Since Ford manufactures Ford Endeavour’s parent Ford Ranger in Thailand and the country is hit by parts supply shortage, all the countries where it is supplied are also affected. Notably, Ranger is sold as Endeavour in India. Meanwhile, those who were highly anticipating the new Endeavour around will have to wait a little more before the new car is launched. As per various reports, the new Endeavour is expected to have a lot of exterior and interior changes and is expected to have an entirely new engine line up that is believed to infuse a fresh demand for the Ford SUV.

Apart from the step up in look on the outside, the interiors of the new Endeavour are believed to grow more sturdier and plush as well as the interior space could also grow with it. The new Endeavour will have a 2.2 L and 3.2 L diesel motor option. These two engines have been tuned to produce from 150 PS and 200 PS respectively with matching torque at different rpm levels. This will help Ford reduce the price of the entry level new Endeavour. Thus, where the entry level Ford Endeavour has gone down on power, the high end models will have a more powerful 3.2 L diesel engine option.
