Ford EcoSport unveiled at the Auto Expo, recent opening of 45 dealerships in one day and the latest launch of Ford Fiesta AT. Now after all this, Ford will be celebrating coming March 9 as the day when Ford Figo hatchback turns two. On this occasion, whoever joins the celebration with Ford and reaches the nearest dealership will be given a gift. The Ford Figo hatchback is the best selling car by the American car maker and Ford wants to celebrate the India debut day in a grand manner.  

As per sources, the Figo that began as a Fiesta hatchback in Europe and then turned Ford Figo when it landed in India will be completing two years of presence in India and at a point of time single handedly governed the sales chart of Ford India. The Figo in fact gave a boost to the premium small car segment in India and it is after the Figo that lots of other offering landed. It single handedly fought with Maruti Swift for quite sometime when it was joined by Skoda Fabia, Volkswagen Polo, Fiat Palio and others.  

Out of the two offerings, the Ford Figo diesel became more popular and fetched more sales for the American car maker. Powered by 1.4L 67 bhp with 160 Nm torque diesel engine is considered as best in the class. The petrol on the other hand is a 1.2L 71 bhp, 102 Nm engine that is high on performance and mileage as well. Another point that made Figo best selling car are the cost of the ownership which is less than even the segment leader Maruti Swift. Besides, ride and handling are inherent in Figo with the American technology in place at its best.
