General Motors India to get new Marketing, Sales and after Sales VP
General Motors is all set to accede to one of the top three positions in the automobile industry in the country. And its cars such as the Chevrolet Sail UVA and the Chevrolet Beat Diesel are going to help it attain this target. Meanwhile, GM has also made some changes in its sales strategy to give an instant push to it. It had decided to change its Marketing Sales and After Sales VP. From January 1, Mr Rajesh Singh will take this responsibility. This is considered to be a major move by GM as the change in top sales and marketing position also means a fresh strategy to take place.
GM cars in India have over the years taken a major place in various segments and specially the Beat Diesel has managed to get a prominent place due to its high mileage and long term warranty. In addition to this the recently launched Sail UVA has also secured a prominent place and it is giving a tough fight to Maruti Swift which has long been enjoying the status of being the best selling car in this segment. In the meantime, the new Chevrolet Spark that has arrived is also performing well but not so well as it was supposed to be and it could be possible that the new VP Singh will chalk out a strategy to focus the entry level car segment.

Two new cars that are about to enter the Indian car market are also thought to possess the recipe for GM India success and these are Chevrolet Enjoy MPV and the Chevrolet Sail sedan. Where the Enjoy will be forcing Maruti Ertiga to revise its stats, the Sail sedan will be directly impacting the Maruti Swift Dzire sales. Also these two cars need a fresh strategy as India has changed a little bit in terms of car buyer’s preference.
