Honda city records huge decline in sales during month of October
As reported earlier Indian arm of Japanese auto giant Honda Motors is going to the completely new Honda City sedan in Indian car market sometimes during this month in both petrol and diesel variants. In the same series it is reported that company had sold out only 31 units of Honda City during month of October 2013, which is about 98% less than compared to sales of September which recorded sale of 2, 043 units of Honda City. It would be interested to know that this decline in sales is really surprising because Honda City had succeeded in selling out 2,500 to 3,000 units every month at the time when price of petrol were hiking at jet dynamic speed. Apart from this it was only Honda City which successfully hosted the flag of Honda Motors in Indian car market before the introduction of Amaze.
According to industry experts that main reason behind these sales figures of month of October is phasing out the production of Honda City with an objective of providing space of assembling of parts for Amaze. According sources of Honda Motors company has production capacity of 1,00,000 units at its production plant and to cope with waiting list of Amaze, company wants of utilize it completely only for production of Amaze.
Apart from this another reason which comes at first instance behind this decline in this sale is launch of new Honda city in Indian market on November 25, 2013 with various upgraded features. It is reported that this fleet of 31 units was the last brigade of existing Honda City with dealers present in Indian car market.
