Honda plans Maruti Swift, Ertiga rivals and Honda diesel cars

Two car makers are most desperate these days. One is Honda and the other is Fiat. The reason is simple. Maruti Swift, Maruti Swift Dzire, Maruti Ertiga and the recently launched Maruti Alto 800 are stealing the show and there remains little scope for these two rivals to improve. Where one is fast losing hold over the market due to absence of diesel engine option, the other lacks the spirit to expand further. However, Honda seems to have decided not sit back and witness the spoilsport. As per reports, the car maker will be launching a series of cars in the next two years and these will include an entry level sedan and a compact car. Most importantly, these cars will be diesel engine powered.

It is literally a wonder how Honda is able to sustain in a market which is highly shifting towards either highly economical petrol cars such as the Maruti Alto 800 or diesel cars. The Honda Brio car has received a fresh blow and in fact all the small cars have in fact received it following the launch of the Alto 800. The recent launch of the Brio Automatic version is a breather though but how long as the industry expects a soon to be hike in petrol prices by Rs 4 per litre.

The diesel cars that will be launched in India include an entry level sedan that will sit below the Honda City price wise and will take on the Swift Dzire. There will be two diesel engine options available. One is 1.2 L and other is 1.5 L. Very soon the other Honda cars such as Honda Jazz, City and Brio will also get a diesel heart. Meanwhile, Honda is also thinking of launching a new Honda MUV that will take on the Ertiga.

Hi...there is no competitor of Honda cars with petrol engine but now it should launch the diesel engine having cars to manage the good position in market. This right that after getting diesel models the available or upcoming Honda cars would be driving past the current leaders.
