Hyundai and Cricket has a close relation just as VW does. Hyundai has bagged the exclusive right to showcase the cricket balls to be used in the upcoming ICC World Twenty20 on September 18, 2012 in Sri Lanka. Following this, Hyundai organized the showcase in glittering Hyundai Eon at select Hyundai dealerships across India. Hyundai officials will be handing over the balls to the match umpire. As a mark of celebration, the car maker had customized a special Eon with lots of ICC World Twenty20 branding on it. The Eon has been specifically chosen as it has become the best selling Hyundai car in India and it could be possible that it could drive past Maruti Alto in terms of sales.

As per the official communication, Hyundai will be handing over the cricket balls thus showcased from September 6 to September 9 at Hyundai dealerships to the match umpires on September 18 at the opening match between Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe. Hyundai has taken this as an opportunity to showcase the brand’s commitment to sports. Notably, Hyundai is the official partner of the ICC till 2015 and it will be participating as well as sponsoring various events of the game as well as organizing various promotional activities to promote the game of sports that is the passion of India.

It is noteworthy to say to that Hyundai has been closely associated with cricket just as VW is associated with the IPL. Just as VW showcased and rolled out Volkswagen Vento and Volkswagen Polo IPL editions that were studded with lots of accessories and IPL branding, Hyundai is also believed to roll out Hyundai Eon and other cars dedicated to T20 games. It is believed that the T20 branding will surely lure Hyundai car buyers and if Hyundai is able to price them better, it will be sold in quite impressive numbers.
