Hyundai to Introduce compact sedan and SUV in next two years
With an objective of breaking the dominance of MSIL in Indian car market, HMIL, the Indian division of Hyundai Motors is designing its future strategy. It is reported that to complete its fleet of vehicles running on Indian roads, Hyundai is going to launch a compact sedan in India sometimes in 2014 and in 2015 it intends to launch a mini sports utility vehicle on Indian roads.
According to sources, Hyundai’s upcoming mini SUV will be designed to place competition to Renault’s Duster and EcoSport from Ford. According to experts of industry going through the increasing craze of customers towards SUV’s has inspired to Hyundai to place its foot in SUV vehicles. As far as the design of SUV from Hyundai is concerned it is rumored that Hyundai will design it on the lines of Santa Fe SUV but on different platform. Moving towards the prices it is said that Hyundai will price its company SUV within the range of Rs. 8 lakh to Rs. 12 lakh which indicates that it will be a direct challenge to existing SUV’s in Indian market. It would be interested to know that in current scenario when Indian auto market is witnessing regular decline in sales of all segment, only SUV segment has succeeded in retaining its position strongly.
Talking about company sedan, official sources of company revealed that it will carry more impressive looks than compared to Grand i10 but will carry Hyundai’s fluidic design. According to sources the diesel variant of sedan will be empowered with 1.45 litre CRDi Diesel engine which is similar to Grand i10.
