Fresh speculations surfacing the internet suggest that Hyundai India is working towards bringing the stripped down version of Hyundai Verna Automatic version. The downsized AT version of Verna sedan will cost Rs 50,000 to Rs 75,000 less than the current version. In wake of revving up its sales, Hyundai could offer the automatic transmission on Verna 1.6 liter diesel version. Usually most of the automatic cars in India are available only in top end version, however, Hyundai is skewing away by offering AT version in a downsized 1.6 litre diesel version of the sedan. At present, the company offers automatic version only on the Hyundai Verna SX (O) variant.

Though currently there are no details on the upcoming entry level AT version yet which can be shared with our readers. As per the company officials, customers have been enquiring about the entry level AT version of Verna sedan, therefore looking at the demand for downsized Verna AT, the company is apparently developing a new entry level Verna AT version. The stripped down version will cost less and will attract more buyers.

Hyundai launched Verna sedan with Fluidic design last year in May, owing to its mesmerizing looks and innovative features offered by the company Verna garnered huge response from the Indian customers. Launched in 10 variants both in petrol and diesel guise Verna has become extremely popular. In last six months the company has sold around 27,500 units of the sedan. Hyundai Verna is one of the best selling sedans in India and the automatic version alone accounts for 10 percent of its sales. With the introduction of trimmed down Verna AT, the sales will fuel further. Hyundai eyes to swell AT share in Verna sales from 10% to 25%. Few days back it was also learnt that the company may offer reverse camera feature as standard on all the 10 trim levels of Verna.
