ICML Extreme MUV launched
Where Renault was busy giving the Nissan Sunny and Nissan Micra a personal touch, there was another Indian car ICML that was busy scratching its head to come up with a new offering. Though Renault came up with new cars – Renault Scala and Renault Pulse (not just lookalikes with different name), ICML could not tweak the ICML Rhino better and has finally came up with ICML Extreme. The Rhino lookalike car launched today seems to be like yet another tweak and will be taking in its rival’s ambit Mahindra Xylo, Chevrolet Tavera Neo 3 and other cars in the segment. It will also be offerings some resistance to Maruti Ertiga but following a weaker brand, it will have to face defeat. The ICML Extreme price is Rs 5.88 lakh.
The car maker has put in two engine options inside the new car. These are the Direct Injection engine that produces almost 99 bhp with a combination of 240 Nm torque and another options is the CRD-Fi engine that is a 2L engine offering 120 bhp with matching 285 Nm torque. The new ICML MUV seems to be like the Rhino in terms of exterior appearance with little revision of the headlamp and some parts. Like the Rhino MUV, the Extreme is also capable of seating seven to ten adults comfortable and is offered in four variants viz. LD, LD AC, SD and VD.
The car has been launched in Hyderabad and a subsequent India launch is on the cards in the coming days. Basically a tractor manufacturer, ICML ventured into MUVs with the IML Rhino that was just a lookalike of the discontinued Toyota Qualis. The Sonalika tractors have a strong presence in the country but the MUV could not make much numbers. This new model Extreme by ICML is expected to get some enthusiasm as the festive buying is about to start.
