The SUV war has already begun in India but there are some more entrants to come. The latest addition is expected to be Chinese Haval H5 SUV which will be brought to India by ICML that already has a mid-sized MUV Rhino in India. The Haval H5 SUV is expected to give a tough fight to recently launched Tata Safari Storme and Mahindra XUV 500 apart from Force One. Once in the SUV arena, auto experts believe that there will be price war among the SUVs and the Indian SUV buyers will see some attractively priced SUVs in India.  

ICML has reportedly been testing the Great Wall Motor made Haval H5 SUV and is expected to be launched in India soon. The Haval H5 is a five/seven seater car and will be available in petrol and diesel engine options. The Haval H5 diesel though has higher prospects and thus it is sure to land in India. As per preliminary reports, Haval will be available in two common rail diesel engine options viz. Euro III compliant 2.5L CRDi engine outputting 107 bhp and Euro IV compliant 2L CRDI diesel engine producing 150 bhp. Both the engine are quite powerful and will allow the SUV to have true power under the hood to tackle any terrain.

As per recent reports, the Haval H5 SUV will be available with five or six speed transmission option and the higher end trims will be sporting a lot of attractive safety and comfort features. It will have disk brakes at the front and the rear apart from Anti-lock Braking system and Electronic Stability Program and airbags which some SUVs in India still don’t have in the standard equipments. Apart from this, the Haval H5 will be available in two wheel and four wheel drive options as well and is expected to create much abuzz in the premium SUV market in India.
