India Auto Expo 2014: Maruti showcases Alto 800 Browzer and Wagon R Xrest
After launching its highly awaited hatchback Celerio and showcasing Ciaz and SX4 S Cross in the ongoing Indian Auto Expo, leading car manufacturing has still some jewels under its hood which it has showcased today. The new jewels displayed by company in show are Alto 800 Browzer and Wagon R Xrest which are considered as the special editions of both these hatchbacks.
According to sources of MSIL customers will experience new driving experience with new Alto 800 Browzer. As far as mechanical changes are concerned company has continued the same 0.8 litre three cylinder petrol engine developing the power of 46 bhp and torque of 76 Nm in the newly unveiled Browzer Alto 800 and the major changes which have been offered are cosmetic changes. The exteriors of car have been now developed with dual tone color and body cladding and the same color scheme has been applied on wheels arches, side skirts and roof rails. Nothing has been changed in the rear side. It would be interested to know that company has applied same dual tone color trend in the interiors and the plastic trims have been given dual color touch.
Moving towards the special edition of Wagon R i.e Wagon R Xrest it would be interested to know that company has introduced various changes in the exteriors and it looks completely different from the existing model of Wagon R. The front fascia of Xrest has been developed with new grille, smoked projector headlamps, plastic covering around the lower parts followed by silver skid plates. On the rear side company has installed new LED tail lamps and roof spoiler. Like the Alto 800 borwzer company has continued the same engine configuration as adorned in existing version of Wagon R.
According to sources of company it will assess the taste of customers towards both these models during the Auto Expo and will decide to continue their production or not.
