India bound Volkswagen Polo Stuffe compact sedan on cards of Volkswagen
It is reported that the German car maker is specifically developing a new sub 4 meter compact sedan for Indian car market and would be developed on Polo’s PQ25 platform. Codenamed as Polo Stuffe compact sedan is expected to make its debut between 2016-17 financial year and soon all the formalities associated with its development will be finalized. This was confirmed by company’s managing director of India operations Mr. Mahesh Kodumudi.
According to company sources the compact sedan would be placed to bridge the gap between its elder siblings Polo and Vento and will carry the same engine configurations as offered in both of them. It would be interested to see that what new shape company gives to this new proposed compact sedan, because prior to this car maker had developed the Vento sedan based on Polo’s platform.
Apart from this compact sedan the German car is also going to launch its first compact SUV named as Taigun in coming next two years. However going towards the recent upcoming launches from company, it is speculated that it might launch the facelift version of Polo hatchback which was unveiled globally in the beginning of this year. As an impact of major changes introduced in the Polo hatchback the car now looks more aggressive and dynamic with newly developed front fascia as compared to erstwhile model. After launching the facelift Polo hatchback in the month of July this year, company will work on offering the facelift version of Vento, however that would be in 2015.
