Indian Auto Expo 2014: Ssangyong displays MPV Rodius and Rexton
Ssangyong, the South Korean car manufacturer showcased its MPV Rodius completely in new avatar at the Indian Auto Expo 2014 along with its SUV Rexton bestowed with 2.0 litre engine and two wheel drive. The South Korean car maker had launched Rodius in 2004 but was criticized due to its look and style, however the newly introduced Rodius does not carry any of features offered in its erstwhile version.
The new Rodius is powered with e-XDI 2.0 litre VGT diesel engine churning the power of 153 bhp and torque of 360 Nm and is mated with six speed manual transmission system. According to sources of company the new Rodius is a utility vehicle which is blessed with features of executive saloon sedan. As far as launching and pricing of this MPV is concerned nothing has been revealed by company.
Moving ahead towards its other sibling SUV Rexton it is equipped with same 2.0 litre VGT Diesel engine as offered in Rodius, but the engine of new Rexton generates more power than its erstwhile version. Although the generated by showcased Rexton is 7 bhp lesser then power generated by 2.7 litre engine integrated in AWD Rexton which is being sold in Indian car market. As the new Rexton is a two wheel drive it is expected that its price would be lesser than its existing model.
