Isuzu launches three cars in India, more to come
However hard the Indian car industry turf could be, international players love to play on it and the latest being Japanese car maker Isuzu. In order to sense the depth and scope for its cars in India, the car maker has launched three cars at its test dealership in Hyderabad recently. The three cars include Isuzu MU-7 SUV, Isuzu D Max Single Cab Pick Up Truck and D Max Twin Cab Pick Up Truck. Success of these three products will shape the future of Isuzu cars in India. Notably, Isuzu is a name that is not at all unknown in India and India has been using Isuzu engines in motor boats, in Hindustan Ambassador and a couple of other cars as well. Thus the engine is seamless and the car products too will be highly welcomed, it seems.

All the three cars will be brought to India through the completely built up unit route and thus one cannot expect these to be too cheap to buy. However, it is believed that if there is an initially enthusiastic response, the car maker could think of expanding its portfolio as well as launches new Isuzu cars in the country and then at a point of time could also think of local assembling of its cars. Where the MU-7 SUV price in India starts at Rs 23.75 lakh and so it becomes a true competitor of Toyota Fortuner and Chevrolet Captiva, the pick up trucks price starts at Rs 6.87 and Rs 8.09 lakh.
Thus it can be seen that though the full fledged SUV is priced so high, the two pick up trucks are in the reach of those who wish to have a small utility vehicle. Known for their performance and loading capabilities, Isuzu pick up trucks could gather some quick response in India as there is a growing demand for these trucks and till now other than Mahindra Genio and Tata 207 there are no viable options available.
