Low cost Nissan Micra to rival Maruti Alto 800 and Chevrolet Spark
Nissan has tailored the next generation version its popular premium small car Nissan Micra for the Indian auto market. Along with India, the company will launch the new version of the Micra hatchback into global markets. In Indian auto market the new Micra small car will be offered in two versions like a facelifted version of existing model and a low cost variant. First of all the company will launch next geneartion version and after that the low cost version will also be introduced.
The low cost version of the Micra codenaded the GO2A and will be made available in only in petrol model. In terms of features and specs it will be major rival of Maruti Alto 800 and Chevrolet Spark. It will power a 1.2L three cylinder engine that generates max power of 76 bhp and is coupled to a 5 speed manual gearbox. It will be offered without driver airbag, locally made steering wheel, skimping on the NVH package and many more safety features.
The low cost model of the Micra would be cheaper than the new Micra due to lack of many of features and use of locally made parts. On the other hand, facelifted version of the current Micra will come added some of new features, re-freshed exteriors and interiors. It will be a major rival of Maruti Ritz, Ford Figo and Mahindra Verito Vibe.
