Made for India, Jeep C-SUV to adorn craggy look

U.S based car maker Jeep still has to unveil its new C-SUV in global market but before that all details related with it have already been disclosed by various sources in cyber world detailing almost all features that are adorned in it. To be named as Jeep Compass (codename: Jeep 551) at present, the model of Jeep C-SUV has been developed on same platform on which existing Jeep Renegade SUV is developed. According to reports with new Jeep C-SUV, U.S car maker is going to offer Jeep enthusiasts the same features as offered in “Grand Cherokee” at the price that is within their reach. Therefore it carries almost the same looks on exteriors and interiors as offered in Grand Cherokee. It would be also interested to know that recently introduced the advanced version of Grand Cherokee as “Grand Cherokee Trailhawk”. This version carries rugged looks and is offered with Quadra-Drive four wheel drive system.

Coming back to Jeep Compass aka Jeep551 it will be enriched with 172 bhp 2.0 litre Multijet diesel engine. The model of vehicle will be assembled locally at Ranjangaon production unit of Fiat. After launch in Indian car market later this year it will take against Ford Endeavour and Toyota Fortuner. Prior to this the car maker had showcased Jeep Wrangler, the Jeep Grand Cherokee diesel and the Hemi-powered Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT during the Indian Auto Expo 2016 held during the month of February. Apart from bringing these models through CBU route the car maker is also speculating to bring two smaller vehicles through CKD route. 
 It would be interested to know that with an objective to strengthen its root in global market, Jeep is also working on developing one more SUV parallel to Compass and will be placed below the existing Jeep Renegade. Moving along with Grand Cherokee and Grand Cherokee TrailHawk, company is also conducting test drive of Renegade SUV on Indian roads.
