Mahindra and Mahindra collaborates with Flipkart for bookings of KUV100
Couple of days back on January 15, 2016, domestic car maker Mahindra & Mahindra started its journey for this year by launching its mini SUV KUV100 in Indian car market with starting price of Rs. 4.42 lakh (ex-showroom price, Pune). Offered in both petrol and diesel variants empowered with newly introduced mFALCON engine series. The petrol version of KUV100 is empowered with mFlacon G80 1.2 litre engine boosting the power of 82 bhp and torque of 114Nm, whereas the diesel variant is energized with mFlacon D75 1.2 litre CRDi turbocharged diesel engine that churns the power of 77bhp and torque of 190Nm. There are overall four variants namely K2, K4, K6 and K8 in both these trims. Both engines are mated with five speed manual transmission system.
Now, after successful launch in India, the native car maker has signed an alliance with online booking store Flipkart for accepting the bookings of this SUV through its portal. The process of booking through Flipkart will commence from the midnight of January 18, 2016. It would be interested to know that it for the first time when any car manufacturing company has signed a treaty with an online store for accepting bookings of its vehicle. The signs regarding this collaboration were already revealed by Mr. Pawan Goenka, Executive Director, Mahindra & Mahindra saying “apart from its dealership model, would depend on ecommerce to sell this product and would tie up with Flipkart and Car & Bike portal for online bookings”. The worth mentioning benefits of booking KUV100 through Flipkart is that the buyers will booking online will be handed their vehicle within 30 days once they accomplish all formalities with their respective dealer in the span of seven days after booking.
According to Mr. Anil Goteti, Vice President (Business), Flipkart, “Online today is a must-have strategy for all players to respond to the growing demand of their customers spread across different cities and towns. For the first time in the automobile category, this exclusive tie-up will allow Mahindra access Flipkart’s extensive reach and network to connect with their customers and provide them the ease to book the Mahindra KUV100 online.
Addressing the tie-up with Flipkart, Veejay Ram Nakra, Senior Vice President, Sales & Customer Care, Automotive Division, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd said, “Being two young brands, both KUV100 and Flipkart complement each other. This tie-up with Flipkart further reinforces our customer centric initiatives.” He added, “With the ever-increasing population of Internet users, this was a step in the right direction for us, especially for brand KUV100.”
