The trump card that Mahindra will be playing next after the grand success of Mahindra XUV 500 is the Mahindra Xylo Mini launch slated this year. The Mini Xylo spying sessions have increased considerably during past some days and it could be possible that Mahindra could hurry things to bring this more like hatch and less of MPV sooner than later. As per the latest reports the Xylo Mini has been spied in Ooty, Coimbatore. Probably, Mahindra has taken it upcoming car to the hills in order to test hill climb and hill descent as well as its behavior in high altitudes.

This is perhaps the second time that the Xylo Mini has been spied in complete camouflaged state in the hills. Codenamed as Mahindra U203, the Xylo Mini as usual seemed more like a small hatchback car rather than a smaller avatar of the big brother MPV. It is also quite possible that this is the tall boy hatchback that the SUV maker is planning to launch in India as the car maker still lacks any small car in its portfolio. In production for the last two years, the Mini Xylo car launch has been much talked about till now. There are reports that the launch of the Xylo Mini was delayed following the search for a more quieter engine. This test mule is expected to have the new engine under the hood.

Reports available on the internet also suggest that Mahindra will be powering the new Xylo junior with 1.5 L three cylinder engine. To hit the roads this Diwali along with the Mahindra Verito compact sedan version, the Mini Xylo will have 70 bhp of power. If the Mini Xylo had the traits of MPV it will give a close fight to Maruti Ertiga. However, if as is expected Mahindra could give it some SUV characteristics then it will be having a duel with Renault Duster and Ford Ecosport.
