Mahindra Quanto all set for a South African debut

The Mahindra Xylo lookalike SUV Mahindra Quanto is ready to be on a sprint. The Mahindra SUV is going to South Africa where there is a high demand for SUVs. Already, Mahindra cars such as the Mahindra Scorpio, Xylo, the latest Mahindra XUV 500 and some small pick-ups by Mahindra are a hit in the SA market. It seems that by launching this budget SUV, the car maker wants to capture the SA market entirely leaving no scope for other SUV makers to sell their cars. With a mileage of 17.2 kmpl and 100 PS power, the SUV has all that what even big SUVs lack. Though the rear shape is a bit weird but it goes well with the overall shape of the car.

As the South African market is similar to India in terms of road regulations, the car maker will have to do little changes to the car in order to make it compliant for the new market. Even the car maker will be able to take the diesel engine option to the new market. It is highly expected that the car will capture the market as soon as it is launched contrary to the Indian market where it is taking its time to attain popularity. In India there are several factors that are keeping some cars away from popularity and the recent price rise, as well as the slow market conditions are determining causes.

The South African launch of the Quanto which is scheduled this month will be one of the turning points in the car’s career and may be Mahindra gets more response in foreign markets than in the country. This is pretty sure that the SUV being of a manageable size and affordably priced will attract the car buyers in any market be it India, South Africa or any other destination. The reason is that the car has all that one needs: Space, looks, power and mileage.
