Mahindra Quanto gets 3200 bookings, Mahindra car price rise soon

Good things do not come cheap and have a price of their own. This is going to be right for the Mahindra cars soon as the car maker is about to increase the price of its cars by over 1.5 percent. Following the price rise all its models will be pricier by 1.5 percent and the move has been taken to compensate the rise in input costs. All Mahindra cars most probably excluding Mahindra Quanto that was launched recently will see a price rise. Other than this, all Mahindra cars including Mahindra Bolero, Mahindra Scorpio, Mahindra Xylo, new Mahindra Verito and the Mahindra XUV 500 will witness a price rise ahead of the festive season. Experts believe that this is a marginal increase and it will be to the extent of Rs 15,000 to Rs 22,000 depending on the price of the Mahindra car and thus it will not negatively impact the car buying.

Also, a marginal increase of Rs 15,000 is better than the proposed Rs 50,000 to Rs 60,000 by the government in the name of special tax on diesel cars. It was all due to the efforts initiated by Mahindra and the lobbying done by the Indian SUV maker that the proposed tax was averted, said sources. Now that Mahindra is planning an increase in price of its cars, it is said that there will not be any impact on sales and those who wish to buy Mahindra XUV 500 will buy it for its features and looks and not that it is offered at a less or higher price. Thus people buy Mahindra cars for their looks, sturdiness and ultimately big space.

Meanwhile, with one after the other superb SUV offerings in place, Mahindra passenger car sales have gone up by 22 percent at 23,808 units. This is quite impressive where even the largest car maker Maruti has to contend with around 9.8 percent growth in September this year compared to last year. It is not at all an exaggeration that Mahindra could climb to a better position in the Indian car industry after the Quanto launch that has already secured 3200 units bookings.
