Meanwhile, the Indian Green Building Council (IGBC) has awarded the Reva NXR Bangalore plant the Platinum rating. This is the first time that any automotive production facility has got the Platinum rating and this is a matter of pride for the car that is highly acclaimed as preserving the environment from pollution. This seems to be a perfect beginning for this car and seems to show Mahindra’s commitment to produce a car that creates zero pollution and now that its building has also been termed to be energy efficient one, it is a matter of delight for India. However, auto analysts and experts believe that the scope of electric cars in India is limited to the metros as anywhere else, the infrastructure is absent and people have a different mindset about electric cars.

The Reva NXR was unveiled at the Auto Expo held in New Delhi in January and Mahindra expects to have unprecedented response for its new car. However, the previous generation Reva car did worked out for the car maker.
