Mahindra Rexton and Tata Safari Storme launch tomorrow
Now that the to-be best seller of this festive season – Maruti Alto 800 has arrived today, all eyes are on the Mahindra Rexton and Tata Safari launch tomorrow. Both these SUVs from two arch rival SUV makers will be testing their might in different segments in the country. Where the Mahindra Ssangyong Rexton is being launched from the Korean partner Ssangyong’s stable, the Tata SUV Storme is a new avatar of the existing iconic SUV Tata Safari. Where the Rexton will take care of the segment above the price range of Mahindra XUV 500, the Tata Safari Storme price is still under speculation but it is expected to sit somewhere above the Safari and the big brother Tata Aria.

Soon Mahindra will also be launching the Ssangyong Mahindra Korando SUV in India and this will be another major launch by the car maker. The Rexton will become the much needed placement SUV as Mahindra was in dire need of one SUV to cater to the demand for a premium SUV in India. Notably, the SUV segment is a highflier these days and every other car maker expects to pitch in a new SUV in the country. The recent entries of Renault Duster and Premier Rio 1.3 L multijet are best examples and the forthcoming SUV such as Ford Ecosport and the Maruti XA Alpha will be other worth additions to the compact SUV segment.

Both the Rexton and Storme will embark a new segment for their respective car makers and both are anticipated since January this year. Tata had already showcased the Storme SUV at the Auto Expo and since then the auto industry as well as SUV buyers in India were eagerly waiting for this SUV that is more maneuverable and agile than the existing Safari.
