Mahindra Scorpio SLE 4x4 specification, details update
If there are any cars in India that never disappointed their respective car makers then two names will appear at the top of the list. Maruti 800 and Mahindra Scorpio. Performing well for over a decade now, Scorpio has in fact become the all time best selling Mahindra SUV. Now, in order to bring some action in the line up, the car maker has made some specification changes on the Scorpio SLE 4x4 variant. The 2.2 litre MHawk diesel engine remains the same as the power machine but there are some changes in the front suspension as well as the overall weight of the car. As per the official website of the car, the 4x4 variant of the SLE trim has torsion bar type suspension at the front giving the car more room for maneuverability and high degree of agility. The price of this new variant is Rs 10.72 lakh ex showroom.
In addition to this the new car has put on weight due to the 4x4 setup under the body and thus the Scorpio is now over 100 kgs heavier than the Scorpio LX version. Besides this all other features and specifications remains the same. The launch of this model means that now Mahindra has 4x4 variant on all its trims and this increases the prospect of this in the market. Where at the one hand, this has increased the prospects of this car, this could prove to be detrimental to Renault Duster 4x4 and the upcoming Ford Ecosport.

The Scorpio SLE 4x4 model is surely going to resist Duster in all respects, be it seating for seven people, a more powerful engine or be it the 4x4 system. Thus, in all probability, this model launch is targeting Duster as the French car is gaining too much popularity in the country giving some sleepless nights to Mahindra which is the SUV maker in India.
