Mahindra Ssangyong SUVs to launch next year
Mahindra & Mahindra is now planning to launch SsangYong SUVs by the second half of 2012. SsangYong was a Korean automobile company which was famous for its SUVs. However, Mahindra & Mahindra took over SsangYong this year in February.
Vivek Nayer, the senior vice president for marketing and automotive division at Mahindra and Mahindra said that they would launch Mahindra XUV 500 in December and then by the mid of next year, launch SsangYong Suvs in India. He said that their share of market is increasing with time, and their only sedan Verito is making its mark in the country.
He also claimed that the company's sales have turned up from 300 units a month to 1,710 units.
He also stated that they are trying to reduce the length of their only sedan Verito, and bring it down to four metres. This is expected to help the company bring down the excise duties, and thus the cost of the sedan. So, the prices will go down as well. Presently, the company is trying to make a mark with its only sedan offering Verito.
He confirmed a significant growth in Mahindra & Mahindra sales figures with 31.09 percent, taking its total figures to 35,756 units in the previous month, which is over 8,000 more than the previous year's same period.
