Mahindra to sell Rexton in a phased manner
Mahindra will be adopting the same strategy for the just in Mahindra Rexton as it did for the Mahindra XUV 500. It is reportedly known that the new premium SUV by Mahindra will be made available across the country in a phased manner. It is believed that this is a strategic move and where on the one hand this will keep refreshing the model in course; Mahindra will also be able to manage the demand for this premium SUV. It is also believed that the Rexton price that starts at Rs 17.67 lakh has made it a prime rival of Toyota Fortuner and thus what Mahindra wishes is bookings flooding in soon. By launching it in a phased manner just like the XUV 500, the car maker will be able to manage deliveries and the waiting period will not bulge.

This will also ease pressure on the Chakan plant where the Rexton CKD kits are assembled. In addition to this, Mahindra will also get time to establish the brand as well and prepare the dealerships accordingly. Since the brand is new to India, Mahindra needs sometime to settle the brand in India and a phased availability of the car will be giving enough time to the car maker to plan and act accordingly.

Very soon Mahindra will also be launching the Mahindra Ssangyong Korando which will further strengthen the brand in the country as well as give some excellent numbers to the new Korean partner. Mahindra also wishes to make India as the hub for Ssangyong car production and thus very soon the Mahindra Ssangyong Rexton and then the Korando will be exported to neighboring countries from India. The Ssangyong launch in India has been very successful and initial response to the car has been outstanding and Mahindra seems to expect that a phased availability will keep the car anew.
