Mahindra XUV 500 bookings to re-open from 25th

Indian Conglomerate Mahindra & Mahindra has announced to re-open the bookings of its in-demand global SUV Mahindra XUV 500 from 25th of January 2012. The second phase of booking will only last for 10 days that is till 3rd of February 2012. The bookings will now be spread over 19 cities across the country that includes smaller cities as well, whereas at the time of initial bookings it was restricted to metros only. The bookings are limited to 7200 vehicles and if the figure exceeds, Mahindra has decided to go for a draw in order to make sure an impartial and even selection of car-buyers.

The fortunate 19 cities that will see Mahindra outlets booking for XUV500 consists of Chandigarh/Panchkula, Ludhiana, Jallandhar, Patiala, Kochi, Trivandrum, Calicut, Trissur, Coimbatore, Nagpur, Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, Bangalore, Pune, Hyderabad, Kolkata, and Ahmadabad.

In order to ensure transparency to its consumers, Mahindra has appointed a professional firm Deloitte Touché Tohmatsu India Pvt. Ltd (DTTIPL) to carry out the draw procedure. The draw application duration for the customers of XUV500 starts from 25th January 9:00 am and will end by 7:00 pm on 3rd February. Along with the draw application the customer needs enclose an amount of Rs 80,000 also. The results of the draw will be declared on 15th February at company’s XUV500 dedicated official website also the entire process of draw and application can be viewed in detail at this link.

Senior Vice President for Marketing at Mahindra & Mahindra Mr. Vivek Nayer said that the firm was pleased with the response of the XUV500 and at the same time wanted to make sure that its consumers don’t have to wait extensively after a sensible period. Hence, a draw practice will be undertaken for the transparent allocation of the vehicle to the ones chosen in the draw, he added.  

Earlier, Mahindra has announced a price rise of Rs 30,000 for the base variant of Mahindra XUV500, while the two-wheel drive variant will be costlier by Rs 50, 0000 and lastly the top end variant 4X4 variant will be expensive by Rs 55,000.

The muscular Cheetah inspired SUV has given a decent threat to the likes of Tata Aria and Tata Safari Storme along with some premium SUVs like Toyota Fortuner and Ford Endeavour.
